That worked perfectly, thanks.
My next issue is that when I issue an invoice with lots of text in the service part of the invoice it changes the order and puts the service part at the bottom of the page and the parts (items) at the top. Is there any way I can prevent this? (I'm using a slightly edited version of the "Fresh" invoice template.
Thanks in advance
I'm glad that the steps provided by my peer above worked for your first concern, @atdmotorservices. Yes, there's a way to fix the incorrect order of your "Fresh" invoice template. I'm here to guide you how.
First, let's go to the Audit Log to verify if someone changed the order of service and items on your invoice. Please make sure to sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account as an admin. Then, proceed with the steps below.
For detailed instructions, check out this article: Audit Log Overview.
If you've confirmed that the invoice was changed, let's manually arrange the orders of their line items. Just go to Sales from the left menu and choose the Invoices tab. Then, open the invoice to update the changes.
However, if you've verified that the invoice wasn't changed by someone, the browser's cache may be full. This may cause unusual behavior in the program. That's why the system puts the service part at the bottom of the page while the items at the top on the template.
To help fix this, you'll want to access your QBO account via a private browser. It doesn't store data in the cache. Thus, it's a great way to isolate browser-related issues. Here are the keyboard shortcuts depending on the browser you're using:
Once logged in, go back to the Invoice screen and click Print or Preview. If you're able to see the correct order as seen in the screenshot below, switch back to your default browser. Then, clear its cache. It helps the browser to function efficiently. Otherwise, you can use a different browser.
Furthermore, I recommend going to the Custom form styles page. From there, you can make a template as default, preview as PDF, edit. rename, and delete it. View the screenshot below for your visual reference.
Please know that I'm here anytime you have other concerns. Enjoy the rest of your day, @atdmotorservices.
