How do I add a new product but not a service to an estimate or invoice?

I would like to add a new product to an estimate. When I create an estimate, under the 'product/service' section, I can select 'add new' but then I am only given 3 choices: non-stock, service or bundle. The product I need to add does not come under any of those three options.

On this particular occasion, I would like to produce an estimate with several lines of additional construction materials and equipment I will be supplying.

 

But there has been many occasion in the past where I wanted to add similar products and did not know how. So i gave up on quick books and just sent them an itemised email.

Let me point you in the right direction for assistance with the other type of products or services in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

If you have QBO Essentials, Plus, and Advanced, all the product types should be available. Otherwise, you’ll only see three item types. In your case, I’d recommend you contact our Technical Support Team. This way, they can double-check your account on why the application is not showing all the available features.

 

Moreover, our phone support can initiate a further investigation and provide fixes in no time:

 

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Select Help (?) at the top right.
  3. In the QuickBooks Assistant, enter the topic you need help with. You can also enter questions.
