How to undo this mess? (invoice linked to a transaction in a deleted bank account, I need to link it to the right transaction in the right account)

Full story, I use multicurrency, I didn't notice but the bank account had the wrong currency, then when the invoice was paid it was mismaching the amounts, but I linked them, then I realized my mistake and inactivated the bank account, then deleted it. Now the invoice is linked to a bank account that no longer exists and I am trying to undo the mess, I have created the bank account with the right details, but I need to link the invoice to the transaction, but the invoice is already linked to a transaction in a deleted bank account. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Let me help you with rectifying the invoices attached incorrectly, and ensure to link them to the correct account, @supplier.

When you unlinked a bank account from online banking, your existing data won't be affected. In your case, you'll want to open your register to unlink the invoice from the incorrect transaction.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu, then click Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate and click the View register of your bank.
  3. Search the transaction, then make changes to the available fields.
  4. If you want to change something in the grayed-out sections, select Edit. This opens the full transaction form where you can make additional changes.
  5. When you're ready, select Save or Save and close.

Hi,

Thanks very much for replying.

I tried to follow your instructions but when I go to chart of accounts, I can't see the previous bank details because the account was deleted, and instead I see something under the name Retained profit balance forward account, type equity and detail type opening balance equity with the money that was in the previous bank details. What do I do?

Fixed, thanks, the chart of accounts doesn't show inactive accounts by default
