I sent a client an invoice but when he went ot pay on the QB website his computer stopped him saying the certificate had expired. Why does quickbooks mess up like this?

"Visiting an untrustworthy website has been prevented
One or more of this website's certificates are invalid, so we can't guarantee its authenticity. This happens when the website's owner hasn't updated the certificate in time, or if it's a fake site created by scammers. Visiting a website like this makes you more vulnerable to attack."

Hello there, @dave19.

Let me make it up to you by ensuring this gets resolved.

The issue in your sent invoices could be browser-related. The outdated stored cache can affect the performance of the program.

Let's troubleshoot by accessing your QuickBooks Online account through a private browser. This can help determine if there is an issue with the browser. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N

Once logged in, try emailing your invoice. If it works, let's clear the browser's cache to ensure the program performs efficiently. Otherwise, you can use other supported browsers. They also provide the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks.

In case none of this fixes the problem, I'd suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They're equipped with tools to check the cause. It'll also allow them to submit a ticket to our engineering team to alert them about the issue if necessary.

Moreover, I'm adding this helpful article as your reference in customizing your sales forms in QBO: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Return to this post if you have other concerns about your customers paying invoices and other QuickBooks-related concerns. I'll be here to lend a hand.

You clearly either didn't read or didn't understand my question.

This is a CLIENT whom I've invoiced and he is the one experiencing this. Are you prepared to PROMISE me that the ceertificates are up to date on QB?

Given that QuickBooks is a cloud-based platform, it's important to note that the system is designed to be automatically up-to-date. Therefore, your client should not encounter an error related to an expired certificate when accessing the QuickBooks website.
