I want to add sum of all quantities in invoice

Hi @info1859

I don't think this is possible to do automatically.

You can add a subtotal (£value) that will automatically calculate but the only workaround I can think of is add a line to the bottom of the invoice (no category, no value but quantity added manually).

Hope this helps.

I want to add sum of all quantities in invoice

Hello Info 1859, thanks for reaching out to us on the Community page, so it is not possible to do this the quantity is just per item line and not overall.

I want to add sum of all quantities in invoice

This had been a request since at least 2018. Why is it so difficult to implement... along with several other standard invoicing/accounting tasks.

So glad there is finally a few competitors out there so I can switch over and pay for actual products and easy user interface.

Please relay this message to all of the people above you.

Thanks,

I recognize how the option to show total quantities on your invoices is important to you and your customers, elysianyc. This would help clarify your clients when receiving sales forms in their files.

At times, we roll out product enhancements based on our customer's requests. Please know that due to high volumes of feature requests, our engineers might still not have reviewed your feedback. I'll take this post as feedback and share it with our product developers for consideration. Also, I would recommend resending your suggestions directly to them: To do this:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback under Profile.
  2. Enter and share your feedback.
  3.  Click Next to submit.

For now, we can add the Quantity column to be able to view the total number of each item sold in your invoices. Let me guide you how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Custom Form Styles.
  3. Select the template that you're currently using.
  4. Click Edit in the ACTION column.
  5. Go to the Content tab, then select the Pencil icon in the body of the form.
  6. Make sure that you've put a checkmark on the Quantity checkbox.

I'll keep you in the loop on our progress and will share any details as soon as we have them through our blog.

In addition, here's an article to help you handle customer invoice payments: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

I appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards improving our product, elysianyc. I'll keep this thread available, so you can always share your insights and queries when doing tasks with QuickBooks Online. Just keep me posted whenever you need help.

I want to add sum of all quantities in invoice

I appreciate you response but it is invalid. This request was first made, by another user, way back in 2017/2018.

Are you telling me that after 5ish years your engineers still haven't had a chance to get to it?

This is really un acceptable. And leave us with just one option to quick QB since customer needs are not appreciated.

I want to add sum of all quantities in invoice

Has this been remedied? Clients want to see a subtotal of the hours from time sheets on the invoice. It is standard for invoices to include subtotals of hours worked, items sold, etc.

I want to add sum of all quantities in invoice

Hi there, @Gallo-Solutions.

We're looking into the option of including subtotals of hours worked from timesheets on invoices. However, this option is currently unavailable. Subtotal will only calculate for the amount of the line items. You deserve a smooth and effortless experience, and I’m here to help make that happen.

I recommend sending feedback directly to our product engineers. By sending us feedback, you're helping us improve our services that you'll also get benefit from. Here's how:

  1. While in the QuickBooks Online Home page, go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
  2. Fill in your suggestions in the Feedback field.
  3. Select Next to send it.

Don't worry, we won't just stop there. I have a workaround that will help you achieve this function. By utilizing the Subtotal and the Message on Invoice feature, we can separate line items to make subtotals from them and describe them through the invoice message. Here's how:

  1. Prepare your invoice line items along with the subtotals that separate the line items.
  2. Calculate the hours subtotal and type them in an ordered list through the Message on Invoice textbox.
  3. Click Save and Close if you're done.

After that, you can also learn how to customize your invoices and other sales forms in QuickBooks Online. This tool helps you create personalized and professional-looking invoices for your customers.
