import sales receipts via xml

At the moment, QuickBooks requires a CSV file format when importing sales receipts. You can download this CSV file example as your guide.

Once the file is ready, you can follow the steps below to import sales receipts.

1. Click the Gear icon, then under Tools, choose Import data.
2. Select Sales receipts.
3. Preview what's required to import sales receipts. There is also an example data file available.
4. Once you have all the mandatory fields, click Browse. 
5. Find the CSV file you wish to upload. Make sure that your CSV file has no more than 1000 rows.
6. Next, you have the option to auto-create any new customers or line items that are not in QuickBooks Online. 
7. If you would like to auto-create customers and/or line items, check the applicable option(s), and select Next.

Are you using a certain platform for your eCommerce system? You can utilize a 3rd party connector to mirror the sales receipt data into QBO if available.

To import transactions, QuickBooks needs CSV files of specific format.

What's the platform you are exporting XML files from? How frequently do you need to export/import files?
