Invoices are going to Trash on recipients PCs presumably because their system sees them coming from an alien address ie quickbooks@notification.intuit.com Please advise.

While I can advise customers to add the quickbooks address to their addressbook I would also have to advise that they should not then use that address to contact us.  That is a hell of an admin exercise in itself and there is a considerable cost, disruption and bad PR involved.  Do Intuit want to be the generators of that?  Chaos.

Intuit has refused to allow QBO clients to send email using their own business email as the sender - everyone else on the net can do it, but intuit .....

all you can do is advise your clients to set a filter or permissions for that address as not junk not spam

or use your own email client to send invoices after saving them as a pdf.

Hello CommunityOil

As another user has advised with invoice emails being sent through Intuit server directly there is not currently a way to change this.I appreciate that it may cause some confusion with your client. The other option is to use the download option on the print preview of the invoice(the arrow symbol),save to your computer, send the email from your own email and add the invoice as an attachment to it

Any questions let us know

EmmaM,

So that's another great step forward for mankind that Intuit has not taken.  How much thought (and experience) actually went into this software in respect of its use in business?  It's schoolboy omissions.  Can you influence somebody to put this on your software designers' to-do list urgently.  It's not doing your company image any favours.  And there are several other aspects which could be added to that list that I have found in my few weeks of using QBO.  Please tell me you have super influence in high places, please, it's serious.  I do not want this request to end up in the same place as my invoices are going currently.  It all makes extra cost for us the users before we can even get a working system running.

Hello, communityoil.

I'm here to help you add QuickBooks as a trusted site to prevent invoices from going to trash.

Your email account may be blocking QuickBooks from sending emails to your program. You may want to add Intuit as a trusted site and include it to your program's list of accepted users so your invoices won't go directly to the trash folder.

If you're using Microsoft Outlook, you can follow the steps below:

Newer versions:

  1. On the Home tab, select Junk, then choose Junk Email Options.
  2. Select the Safe Senders tab, then choose Add.
  3. Enter "do_not_reply@intuit.com", then select OK.
  4. Choose Automatically add people I email to Safe Sender List and select Apply.

Office 2010:

  1. On the Home tab, under the Delete group, select Junk.
  2. Choose Junk Email Options.
  3. Select the Safe Senders tab, then choose Add.
  4. Enter "do_not_reply@intuit.com", then select OK.
  5. Choose Automatically add people I email to Safe Sender List and select Apply.

Office 2007:

  1. On the Tool menu, select Options.
  2. On the Preference tab, under Email choose Junk Email.
  3. Select the Safe Senders tab, then choose Add.
  4. Enter "do_not_reply@intuit.com", then select OK.
  5. Choose Automatically add people I email to Safe Sender List and select Apply.

Here are the steps to add approved email addresses depending on which email provider you're using:
