Our small business is exploring a change in accounting systems. We have looked at Quickbooks Online Advanced. During a call with an Intuit sales rep we asked about backup and recovery capabilities. We were forwarded a link to a backup application that is bundled with Online Advanced. The customer comments re: this application were very unfavorable. We responded to the sales rep that we'd like to talk about this further but he has now gone dark on us. Very unusual for a sales person to go dark. The more we look into this the more concerns we have about backup and recovery capabilities, especially the ability to recover certain historical files or data. Quickbooks is very upfront to say that only a year of backup data is retained which leaves us wondering what would happen if we were asked to produce multiple historical years of financial information. Have other online clients arrived at a capability to backup and recover financial data using Quickbooks Online Advanced?

QBO Advanced includes automated backup and restore functionality designed to help businesses protect their data and recover from accidental changes, deletions, or corruption.

Please note that the Online Backup and Restore app saves all backup snapshots taken in the last 1 year. Backups that are older than one year won't be retrievable by the company. You can restore company data to within one previous calendar year. There are also certain data that you can and can’t back up.

If you want to produce multiple historical years of financial information, you can consider exporting your data or exploring third-party applications that can back up and restore more than a year of historical data.
