Two months of transactions missing despite refreshing bank connection

I'm now worried as I've only been self employed for a couple years and review all of my transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed - I have zero transactions from February and March despite making about 15 purchases (and sales) at various places - I send parcels regularly with Royal Mail which is set to 'Admin' in Starling and has always been sent over automatically to QBSE, so it's not like I've been buying random things and they've been set to a personal expense and they're not being sent to QBSE ahhhhhhh!

I'm just worried as I have ZERO confidence with tax returns now if it's not keeping track of all of my expenses so I could easily miss things (that it usually doesn't miss) if I'm not careful (this was the reason for using/paying for this service in the first place).

I have even more recent transactions that are being transferred to QBSE from Starling as per usual, my typical Royal Mail expenses and also more random expenses are there from the past couple weeks.

I've set the filter to 'ALL' so I'm not missing anything that's automatically been filtered (this includes the previous tax years transactions also).

I've refreshed the Bank Connection even though it's clearly updated as it's got this weeks transactions.

Why is there a two-month void of transactions? Do I have to go and check every transaction to see if it's been captured by QBSE? This is a nightmare and I've now got no idea if my previous tax returns were even accurate.

Hope someone can help, thank you for your time!

Ryan

Two months of transactions missing despite refreshing bank connection

Hello Ryan, welcome to the Community

We appreciate you providing such a detailed post and we'll be happy to assist you with your banking issue.

Due to regulations, the consent for Open Bank connections needs to be re-authorised every 90 days. Once this has expired, we're unable to download any transactions from your bank and the connection will need to be re-auhorised in QuickBooks to resume.

Other possible reasons can be caused by temporary connection issues between your bank and QuickBooks, though we would expect such issues to be resolved within a relatively short timeframe.

You can easily import missing periods of transactions by uploading a CSV. Most banks will let you download transactions from their website into a CSV, but you may need to edit before importing to ensure it only contains the date range required.

If you would like this to be checked further, please contact our support team for QuickBooks Self-Employed by chat or on 0808 234 5337. The agents here will be able to confirm some account-specific information that will allow them to check your connection in the background. Thank you.
