When entering sales receipts, why do I get a message saying this transaction was on or before your company's closing date and that it will affect the books?

When entering sales receipts, why do I get a message saying this transaction was on or before your company's closing date and that it will affect the books?

Sounds like someone set the closing date and you are trying to save a back dated transaction

 

closing the books in QB is not an accounting close the books, all closing the books in QB does is password protect previous entries
