Does changing the name type - vendor-customer-employee-other - affect the bal sheet or P&L?

Hi there, @td1231.

I'll share information about changing the name type in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Changing the vendor, customer, or employee's name type doesn't affect your reports in QBDT. The only effect when changing the name type is that it can no longer be altered.

You can check out this article for more information: Change supplier, customer, or employee name type.

You may also want to run and customise reports to focus on the details that matter the most to you. This article will guide you through the process: Customise reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Keep me posted if you have other concerns or follow-up questions about changing the name type in QBDT. I'm always here to help.
