I know a way on how you can delete previous data of your company file, @rimmer-n-sky-com.
Let me discuss the details so you can achieve your tasks.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can delete all of the data in your file if it is been active within 90 days of signup. If more than that, the option you can take is to cancel your subscription and create a new company. Here's how:
Delete the data of your 90-day old account
Reset the data of your account that is more than 90 days old
You'll know about this process by visiting this article: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online.
I've also got here a compilation of articles and guides that you can browse if you need handy references.
I'm still willing to help in case you need more help on deleting your previous company data. Just leave a reply below and I'll circle back to assist you. Take care always.
I would recommend opening a new blank QBO account
then you may have 2 ways to migrate data from 2020
1. Utilize a migration tool
https://transactionpro.grsm.io/qbo
2. Purchase a 3rd party migration service.
