Is there any way I can remove the VAT? I'm not VAT registered but won't let me post anything without it. The default tax code in the settings is No VAT. Thanks.

I can share some information about removing or turning off VAT, @F_Musu.

The option to turn off this feature is currently unavailable. Updating your transactions to show as No VAT is a good workaround.

Here's how:

Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
In the Advanced section, click the pencil icon in Accounting.
Update the Default tax selection to No VAT.
Click Save and then Done.

This does NOT work... QB still demands a vat field. THis is very annoying when trying to add transactions from a bank update as you have to go into every transaction and enter No VAT !!!

I think Quickbooks has become very lazy and non-productive for software development, if the company is not VAT registered then Quickbooks is not for you due to their lack of support and just overloading simple person to use the software. On the other hand, other software are very productive.

Quickbooks is not good, for company with fixed assets, non VAT. I dont know who is actually their main market. Very lazy development and ignoring customers constantly.
