Hi.
I have an accountant who looks over my book keeping in order to make sure I am putting things in the correct areas and splitting home office and main office details.
I am unable to find a way to add an accountant in the UK version. It says in the community posts it can be done on the Us version but not the UK. Surely this is a needed feature so our accountants can also get access when needed rather than having to share our username and password with them.
Regards,
Lee

Hello Malcolm, Welcome to the Community.
If the subscription was taking out from ourselves you should have the option to invite an Accountant by going into the Cog>Accountant and then send an invite to your Accountant from there.
If you don't have this as an option you may have taking your subscription out from Apple store or Google play store ( Check subscriptions with your app providers) Don't Worry if you have, We will be able to migrate the billing from Google/Apple to ourselves so that you have the option to invite the Accountant. Thanks
Hi there, MrLeeUK.
Yes, you can add your accountant in the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) UK edition. I'm here to help guide you through.
Here's how:
I've attached some screenshots to help you with the process.
Then, let your accountant know to accept your invitation.
Just in case, I'm linking an article for your future reference: Getting started for QBSE.
That should do it. Let me know how it goes by leaving a comment below. I'll be here to keep helping.
Hi.
I have done exactly what you said and I do not see that link
Can you advise?
Regards,
Lee
Hi @MrLeeUK,
Great day and thanks for providing us a screenshot. It seems like you're trying to add an accountant using a mobile apps.
Instead of using the apps, I'd suggest you use a web browser on your computer or launch a supported web browser on your phone. Then, try to check if the Accountant New is available under About you.
You can also refer to our help article: Invite an accountant in QuickBooks Self-Employed. It will also guide you on how you can remove an accountant to your data in the future.
Feel free to message us again if you need anything else. We're always happy to attend your concern. Have a nice day ahead!
I am having the same issue as @MrLeeUK I am in the UK and logged on as self employed and want to add my accountant. I am on my PC and still don't have the "accountant new" available under the "about you" tab. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated? Thanks
Hello, @ABoarer.
Let me share additional information on how the accountant feature works in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
Currently, the ability to add an accountant is available to regular web subscribers. Also, this is open for QBSE accounts created by the accountants themselves.
There would be a need for us to verify your subscription type on a secured environment. Since the Community space is a public forum, I’d recommend contacting our Customer Care Team.
Here's how to contact us:
Also, I've got these articles for further insights about QuickBooks Self-Employed:

Yeah this is a flawed feature for us app users. I had to give my accountant my log in details.
Surely the web version and the app versionnahould share the same features?
I am seriously thinking about going to another online service as have had nothing but problems with quickbooks and have been with them for quite a while but seeing these other similar companies appearing, maybe a switch will be less headaches.
Hello, @MrLeeUK.
I can see how it would be beneficial to you to have the ability to provision your accountant an access to your account. I'll make sure to pass along your request to the Product Development for consideration in future updates.
Check out our blog for news on the new features and improvements that are in store: https://intuit.me/2L2zqTv.
Don't hesitate to leave your comments below if you have other questions. I'm always here to help.
Did you ever get to allow the account access? I want to do the same ! Why is the helppages so frustratingly poor with the information it gives, it appears not to know its own system.

Hi Malcolm, thanks for the screenshot. As you do not have the option showing under the gear icon you will currently be billed through a third-party such as Apple.
If you wish to have the function to invite your accountant, we can migrate your billing to Intuit, however the earliest opportunity for this would be on Midnight of the date of your next usual bill date with your third-party provider.
Please get back to us below if you wish to proceed and we can raise a case for this migration.
I’m paying through apple. How can I swap to you so I can add my accountant then? Because I’ve got the same problems as the others
Hello MJHancock
In order to swop, you would need to cancel the subscription with Apple and then once it is your bill date we can move you over to QuickBooks billing. If you can just reply back here or send us a PM or DM on Facebook or Twitter under QuickBooks UK
Thanks
We want to get the best help for you, HealthBrokers.

Hi Emma,
I'd like to migrate my account from the app to QuickBooks billing so as to access the "add accountant" feature. I've cancelled my Apple subscription. What should I do next?
Thanks,
Vinay
Hello VinayPatel,
If you can reach out to us again when the billing cycle has finished then we will be able to reach out to our engineers and get them to move the billing over to intuit so when you resubscribe it will be with intuit rather than a 32rd party like apple.
how do I migrate the billing form google to have the feature of add accountant?
Hello Deirdreheaney,
Welcome to the community page,
If you can reach out to us on either Facebook or Twitter in a private message we will be able to tell you how to go about moving from google billing onto intuit billing so you can add your accountant.
Hi there,
My billing cycle is now finished. Would you be able to get the engineers to move the billing over to intuit now? How should I then resubscribe after this is done?
Thank you,
Vinay
Hello, @VinayPatel.
You'll just have to cancel the account from the mobile app and then resubscribe through the web.
You can check on the following article on how to cancel on iTunes or through Google Play: Cancel your QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile subscription.
Once you're done, you can now resubscribe through the web. Follow the steps below:
Check the following article for more information about this: How to resubscribe to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
Once done, your monthly billing will now be handled by Intuit and you can now invite your accountant.
I'll always be here if you have any other concerns. Stay safe and have a wonderful day!
Hi Mary,
Thanks for that - I try to do this, but it just tells me my billing preferences can be controlled via the app and sends me a download link. There appears to be no way around this that I can see? If I do it via the app, then it will still be an Apple subscription.
Vinay

Hi there, I’m having the same issue, I pay through Apple for my subscription. You said this is easy to migrate over? Can you please help my do that. Thanks
I appreciate you for joining the thread, Michael.
As mentioned by IamjuViel above, you'll be able to add an accountant to your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account through a web browser. To perform the process, you need to cancel the account your purchased through Apple, then resubscribe through the web.
Here's how:
Moreover, here's how you can learn more about what to do if you ended your subscription and want to start using your existing account again.
