Hi @Paulloaderadi,
Thanks for posting your concern here in the Community. Let me share a few details about the simplified method which QuickBooks Self-employed supports for calculating your annual estimated taxes.
In claiming business expenses for your vehicles, HMRC provides two (2) methods in calculating the amounts. These are the simplified expenses (with flat rates) and the actual expenses methods.
Though you can't claim vehicle insurance, repairs and servicing, or fuel costs in the simplified method, you can claim all other travel expenses in addition to your simplified expense amount. For more information, you can read through our help article:Simplified Expenses Mileage Method versus Actual Costs for Vehicle.
If want to use the actual expenses method, the system will only track it for recording purposes. I suggest you contact your accountant or a Tax Pro Advisor. They can help you more in deciding which methods would be most beneficial for your business in claiming the biggest allowable expenses.
You can also refer to https://www.gov.uk/expenses-if-youre-self-employed/how-to-claim. It will help you learn more about how to claim the car, van, and travel expenses as a self-employed.
