Sorry if this is obvious, however, I'm new and can't seem to find an answer to this problem.
I've marked my first invoice as 'paid', however, the amount does not show up under 'Profit and loss' and I'm not sure why this is? It does show under 'Revenue' however.
Please, could someone advise?
I'm using QuickBooks self-employed, and this is the first invoice that I've raised.
Many thanks,
Craig
Hello Craig
In QuickBooks Self Employed marking an invoice as paid does not impact the income at all.
The only section that impacts the income is the transactions section. What you would need to do is go to transactions> add transaction>fill in the amount and select an income category.Or alternatively you can connect the bank account in the cog in the top right>bank accounts>search for the bank. You can then upload you income and expense transactions and add them to the QuickBooks. It is just a case of categorising them.
Any questions on this let us know

I need my cash paid invoices to show as income, then I discount any cash deposits in my bank. Because often I spend cash income before it gets to my bank account.
How do I deal with this?
Your solution of adding a transaction doesn't work if there is no corresponding bank deposit.
