Hello maisonwhite,
You can disconnect the MTD connection and reconnect, which will give you the option to login to HMRC again with the correct details. You can do this by going to the cog wheel > account & settings > advanced and selecting the option for Making Tax Digital. Select Learn how to disconnect, go through the steps of disconnecting and make sure to click on the link to the HMRC site to unauthroise QuickBooks. Once you have done this, select the same section in the settings menu and click Learn how to connect.
Thanks,
Talia
Hi there, @maisonwhite.
I can get you pointed in the right direction on where you can reset your HMRC VAT ID and password and make it tax digital.
You'll need to log in to the HMRC Online Services to verify your credentials and reset your password. Once done, you can now start the process in making it tax digital.
To give you complete details about the entire procedure, please refer to these articles:
I've also included some references that you can read through for more insights about submitting a VAT return to HMRC - MTD in QuickBooks Online:
Also, in case you encounter any issues with your login credentials, I'd suggest getting in touch with the HMRC directly.
Keep me updated on how things turns out. I'll be around to help if there's anything else you need. Take care!

Hi maisonwhite
Are you referring to when you set up MTD on the HMRC website or within QuickBooks that you entered the PAYE ID instead of the VAT ID?
I set up MTD correctly on the HMRC website. It was within QB that I incorrectly set the link to my HMRC PAYE account.
