Hi there, emmanuel-garcia1.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can delete multiple entries but transactions will have to be deleted one-by-one. Below are the steps on hot to delete entries:
I know how convenient it would be for you to be able to delete multiple entries at once. We continue to look for ways to improve the product for our customers convenience. While the option is not yet available, I encourage you to visit out QuickBooks Blog. Updates and latest feature will be posted and shared there.
Drop me a reply if you have other questions. I'm always happy to assist you further. Have a great day ahead.
Please please please make this a feature. I ran into an issue where I input a personal account by accident and it threw off my balance sheet. I believe I now have to go through all 181 transactions, delete them individually, and then disable the account, right? Is there a more efficient way?
Let me address your concern, Cel5146.
You're right. You'll have to delete them one by one. From there, you can delete the account or make it inactive.
I know it's convenient to delete them all at once. I suggest sharing your idea directly with our software engineers. They take note of our customers' feedback. Here's how:
We're available 24/7. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us again if you have other concerns.
@Kristine Mae is there a way to just wipe out my entire portal and start fresh? My business is newish (6 months) and my personal accounts that loaded in by accident have upwards of 800 transactions, none of which have anything to do with my business. Maybe cancel my subscription and just start all over?
Yes, you have the option to start all over with QuickBooks Online, cel5146.
Before starting from scratch, you'll want to export your data first since you're unable to restore the action once you delete your account.
If your account has been active for more than 60 days and you need to start from scratch, you cancel your account and start a new subscription.
To cancel your account:
Then, start an account by signing up through this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/global/. However, if your account has been active for less than 60 days you can delete the data. Here's how:
Let me know if there's anything else that you need help with. Take care and have a great day!
You may have 2 options:
1. Utilize a deleter tool as I mentioned in the earlier post
https:// transactionpro.grsm.io/qbo
2. Purchase a new blank QBO account and utilize the tool to migrate some data if required.

Just add the accountant options from desktop. You are causing CPAs to advise their clients to stay away from your program because CPAs cannot easily research and fix problems.
For the price of this product, we should be able to batch delete.
Amen. My favorite is when I do the support chat, and they keep telling me I need to talk to a specific department and reroute my chat. But after 4 people, somehow I'm STILL not at the right department? How is that even possible? These people have no freakin clue.
If you take the time to read the very short question, the user specifically says MULTIPLE entries. However, because you skipped that part, you instructed them how to delete a single entry. Did you answer this way because you didn't read carefully, or is it because you know that there is no option for bulk deletion of entries and for some reason Intuit reps are incapable stating that QBO isn't capable of doing something so you just give instructions on how to do something related even if it doesn't answer the question? Is that an Intuit policy? Does Inuit realize how frustrating that is? Just say QBO doesn't have that functionality so we can all move on with our lives!!!
I have done this multiple times (go into the bank register and delete transactions) and the transactions just keep getting put back in the "for review" for the account. I have tried over and over and it keeps happening. I imported transactions from a CSV file that had all the negative amounts formatted to be in red with parenthesis, and quickbooks did not recognize them as negative amounts. Therefore, payments and expenses were recorded as deposits. Since I can't change the type of transaction (deposit to an expense), I was trying to delete the transactions and reimport. But it is absolutely not deleting these transactions. I have deleted transactions in another account that were duplicated by the client not putting them in correctly, and not had a problem with them being permanently deleted. I don't understand why this client's transactions won't go away. I have tried everything.
I know how important it is to make sure that your transactions are corrected, and I understand how frustrating it is when encountering hurdles when trying to delete entries, @SusanM29.
Since you're unable to delete certain transactions, we can perform another way how to isolate the problem. We can opt to exclude the transaction and delete it from there.
Here's how:
1. On your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, go to the Banking tab.
2. In the For review section, tick the boxes you want to delete.
3. Then click Exclude.
4. From the Excluded section, tick the boxes you want to delete.
5. Once ready, click Delete.

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our QBO Support Experts. They'll be able to use a screen share tool to walk you through some more steps to assist you.
I'll also share this article you can read if you want to learn more about how to review downloaded bank and credit card transactions and put them in the correct accounts: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QBO.

Totally agree with this. Intuit knew that they weren't answering the question but wanted to write something... My solution has been to inactivate the problem account and create a new one and now I have disconnected any access to my accounts. I'll just enter everything manually. :-((
How has it been three years and this still isn't fixed yet? I accidentally added a personal as well and am having to delete a thousand transactions one by one.
Let's make sure you can delete entries in QuickBooks, Kylydian.
Currently, deleting entries can only be done one at a time by excluding a transaction. As a workaround, you can use a third-party application to delete multiple entries in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
To search for one, follow the steps outlined below:
In addition, when QuickBooks downloads transactions, it looks for and tries to match with those you've already entered. To learn more, check out this article for future reference: Categorise And Match Onlne Bank Transactions In QuickBooks Online.

Yeah, it is another $300 to spend to do mass deletes for 1 year.
Being able to delete multiple of ANYTHING is a really basic UI feature. They have deliberately kept these kinds of features out of their Desktop ( and now Online ) versions for years. I have no idea why they do this. Originally I assumed it was because Books for a company shouldn't be handled that way. Single entries mimic old school manual accounting practices. Anything "Advanced" requires plugins which helps keep their development community alive. I mean, their search features on Desktop are unbelievably bad. And it is almost as if they have handicapped data imports / bank feeds from day one. Pretty much every year something is broken with bank feeds. For the last few years to import feeds with Desktop, you have to do this little hack.
Anyway, I truly hope another company finds a way to replace Intuit. I was willing to put up with their Byzantine nonsense because I didn't have much choice. But them tripling the cost of their software ( online vs desktop ) has stripped any and all sense of goodwill away. I hope this company fails and they are used as an example in future Business classes.
where is this delete option because it's not showing on mine
I can help you remove entries in the program, raheimcason.
Beforehand, are you trying to delete bank transactions? If so, we can do it by going to the Banking page. Let's exclude them first and then delete them.
Here's how:
If you're referring to the entries you manually added to the program, you'll need to delete them one by one in the Chart of Accounts. I'll guide you on how to do it.
You can also visit this page to learn more about excluding transactions.

Thanks for the help, but honestly if I have to use a third person app to do something as simple as delete an entry then I'll just get rid of QuickBooks.
