A more powerful QuickBooks on the Intuit platform

Small businesses today face complex challengesβ€”juggling fragmented tools, losing time to manual admin workflows, and struggling to confidently make decisions about their finances. For accountants and bookkeepers, this means time is wasted navigating inefficient processes, while client advisory work becomes harder to deliver.

QuickBooks is transforming to meet these challenges head-on. A new, redesigned QuickBooks Online user interface will soon begin to rollout as part of the first phase of revolutionary platform updates. Built on the Intuit Platform, these innovations will save you and your clients time, improve workflow efficiency, and pave the way for cutting-edge tools, like Agentic AI, to simplify daily tasks and empower smarter advisory work.

Here’s a closer look at how QuickBooks will evolve to support accountants, bookkeepers, and your clients over the coming months.

Smarter, more intuitive navigation

The redesigned QuickBooks Online interface will make it easier than ever to manage your clients’ books seamlessly.

Key features include:

  • Smarter design: Essential tools work together with a redesigned layout, so you and your clients can stay organised and ready for anything.
  • Streamlined navigation: A simplified menu organises your clients’ bookkeeping, finances, and customer management tools under apps for faster task completion.
  • Connected tools*: Your clients’ third-party apps, like Payroll and Payments, will continue to integrate reliably into the platform, with more features and deeper connections coming soonβ€”all in one place.
  • Customisation for focus: Tailor the dashboard and navigation to work the way you do.
  • Enhanced search: Quickly locate transactions, contacts, accounts, and reports with faster search capabilities and custom filters.
  • Quick access: Bookmark frequent actions and key tools for effortless efficiency.

The updated interface creates an efficient environment for accountants and bookkeepers, giving you full control while saving time spent on admin tasks.

Importantly, all existing tools and workflows will remain the sameβ€”this redesign simply makes them easier to access and use. Starting in late August, early access to the new QuickBooks Online interface will begin rolling out gradually. You and your clients will have the option to opt in via the QuickBooks settings menu as access becomes available. If you would like to pre-register, click on the button below:

Building relationships with smarter CRM tools

QuickBooks is expanding its Customer tools to empower small businesses to grow their customer base and improve client satisfaction.

Key CRM enhancements include:

  • Lead pipeline management: Track leads, follow up on inquiries, and organise customer opportunities in one central pipeline.
  • Customer insights: View customer feedback via surveys and reviews, and turn satisfaction trends into actionable strategies for retention.
  • Referral opportunities: Automatically capture referrals to help clients grow their revenue sustainably.

These tools help small businesses turn one-time sales into repeat customers and improve client profitability with more enhancements arriving in future phases.

Unlock time with AI agents#

Coming in November, Agentic AI will bring cutting-edge automated workflows to QuickBooks Online. These digital teammates will complete repetitive tasks with oversight from you and your clientsβ€”saving time without sacrificing accuracy.

This is only the beginning of what AI tools can do to support financial professionals. With expanded agent capabilities, Intuit is committed to making accounting smarter, faster, and more efficient for those who help businesses thrive.

Real-time insights with Open Banking#

QuickBooks will soon bring Open Banking bank feed capabilities to accountants and small businesses. As part of the Australian government’s Consumer Data Right (CDR) initiative, next-generation bank feeds use highly secure API technology and ACCC-controlled measures to provide a direct connection between banks and QuickBooks Online.

As Intuit is an ACCC approved accredited data recipient (ADR), the Open Banking bank feeds in QuickBooks deliver:

  • Fast and up-to-date data: Instantly access real-time bank feeds across all accounts, with up to two years of historical data to support timely and informed decisions.
  • Greater control: Gain a complete, real-time view of your clients’ finances, securely shared with QuickBooks, to act faster and with more confidence.
  • State-of-the-art security and compliance: Protected access to shared financial data ensures that transactions remain secure and compliant.

Open Banking bank feeds will empower accountants to advise with confidence while giving your clients real-time visibility into their financial health.

Smarter reporting with Modern View

Reporting is the cornerstone of client advisory work, and QuickBooks is committed to taking reporting to the next level. While change can feel unsettling, the transition to Modern View reporting will bring a faster, more flexible, and future-proof reporting experience.

Key benefits include:

  • Improved performance: Larger reports run faster and handle complex datasets with ease, saving you valuable time.
  • More customisation: Tailor reports with ease using customisation options like grouping, compare and filtering to deliver more insights to clients.
  • Future-ready functionality: Modern View lays the foundation for advanced capabilities, like AI-powered insights to detect new trends, to ensure reports evolve with your client’s needs.

Modern View ensures accountants and bookkeepers can spend less time creating reports and more time providing meaningful advice to clientsβ€”unlocking smarter, faster ways to drive business growth.
