Hi, I'm trying to write a web service feed to pass invoices from our booking system to QB Pro 2021. I've tried to follow the instructions under "Set up QuickBooks Web Connector" article: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-uk/install-products/set-up-quickbooks-web-connector/0...
However under step 2 I do not have an Update Web Service option under the File menu. I'm using the trial version and need to prove this works before I purchase the software. Any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul
Hi there, Paul. I'm here to help you with setting up an application to Web Connector.
The steps from the link you've added should help you with the process. You may have limitations replicating using a trial account, rest assured you can do it through a live or a paid subscription successfully.
To get started, download and install QuickBooks Web Connector before adding an app.
In case you want to remove an app from Web Connector, you can also check out the instructions under Delete an app.
If you have any other questions about adding an app to Web Connector, let me know by adding a comment below. I'm more than happy to help. Keep safe!
Thanks for your reply. I've contacted my client who has a licenced version of the product and the menu options described in step 2 do not appear under the 'File' menu. I've since discovered that you simply run the Web Connector independently of QB and grant access, no need to add it as an app at all so the instructions are rather misleading.
It also appears very difficult to find working examples of adding an invoice to QB via the Web Connector as samples appear very out of date. I've finally managed to get an InvoiceAddRq XML message to pass through the Validator using QuickBooks (UK Editions) but QB returns an error message "The version of QBXML that was requested is not supported or is unknown.", I've attached my XML file and would be grateful if you can spot any errors or point me at the documentation that specifies the correct schema/version information that will work with QB Pro 2021 Desktop. If I change the versions to 14.0 as I've seen in some examples that do work with the web connector then it fails validation with this message "Invalid 'qb*xml version' declaration. For UK use 'qbxml version="UK2.0"', for example" however it does appear to get processed by QB.
