Let's fix this right away so you can continue with your task, @michael-p-allen7.

I opened the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) app on my phone and uploaded a PDF file receipt and it's all good. In your case, when hitting the upload button the app closes immediately and then it responded that it crashed. We can perform some troubleshooting steps to fix issues with the application.

First, I suggest restarting the app. Then simply close it and reopen it. You can also power down and restart your device then run the QBSE app.

If it persists, we can clear the data that is stored in the app cache.

  • In the QBSE app:
    • Android: From () button, select Settings, then select Refresh Data, and then choose Yes.
  •
  • iOS: From the Menu ☰, select Help & Feedback, click Refresh Data, and then select Refresh.
    •
  • In your device Settings:
  • Android:
    • Settings > Apps (varies by device) > QBSE app from the list >Storage > Clear data.
  •
    • iOS: From your device's Settings, select Setting General iPhone Storage and choose an app that's taking up a lot of space. Then, click the Offload App.

If this behaviour continues, please uninstall and reinstall the application.

Post again here if you have other concerns about QBSE and fix any issues while using the app. Anytime I can help. Take care always!

All steps completed, cleared data and cache, uninstalled app, reset phone, re installed but still the same, uploading images is fine but trying to upload a pdf. Shuts my app down completely :(
