Why won't my quickbooks app connect to my bank account?

Hello, matthew-ely13. I'd be happy to assist you in connecting your bank to the QuickBooks app.

 

Before we start, could you please provide me with the name of your bank? This will help me check any known issues or if we need to address any specific concerns related to your financial institution.

 

Here are the following scenarios of why you're unable to connect your bank account:

 

  • The bank may not be a participating bank. 
  • Your bank might not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
  • The bank is having a system maintenance.
  • Some banks have multiple names on our list. You might want to check and select the correct one or try all possible bank URLs.

 

For now, contact your bank to verify if there are any maintenance updates or if you need to establish a connection with QuickBooks. After confirming that everything is in order from the bank's end, ensure that you select the correct bank name when connecting the account.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Menu , then select Transactions.
  2. Select + to add an account.
  3. Search for your bank. Or choose from the list of popular banks.
  4. Select your bank from the search results.
  5. Sign in to your bank.
  6. Follow the steps to select an account to connect to.

 

You can also open your account using a web browser and connect to your bank. I'm adding this article with a video tutorial: Connect your bank feed using Open Banking. For the time being, you have the option to upload your bank transactions manually. Here's an article for the instructions. Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. Once uploaded, make sure to categorise and match your bank transactions.

Hi. I’ve been using intuit for almost 2 years now with no problems. I had the message to reconfirm with my Starling business account which I’ve used before , but this time it won’t connect . I’ve been trying the last month but the date has expired and I’m no longer connected to my Starling business account . Please help

If you don't notice any updates, we can perform some browser troubleshooting to eliminate common browser-related issues that may be causing unexpected errors or problems in QBO. Try accessing your account in an incognito window to rule out any browser complications. Here are the keyboard shortcuts for opening an incognito window:

 

  • Safari: Shift + ⌘ + N
  • Google Chrome: Press Ctrl + ShiftN
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N

 

If you're able to connect your bank successfully in an incognito window, We recommend clearing your browser's cache to refresh the system. Otherwise, you can use another supported browser.

 

However, if it still won't connect in the private window, consider manually uploading your bank transactions into the software using a CSV file format as a workaround.. Once the transactions download from your bank feeds, remember to exclude them to avoid duplicates to keep your records accurate.
