Email Sales Invoice to Customer - Unable to edit

I am using Quickbooks Desktop 2019.

I have emailed a customer a sales invoice direct from Quickbooks as a pdf.

When my customers opens the pdf and tries to edit the PDF ( to upload to their accounts system ) they receice a prompt to enter a permissions password.

Can I turn this functionality off or can I set and share a password with my customer?

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards

James

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, Travis36.

You may have set a password to protect a .PDF file when sending an invoice to your customers. The password should be the last 7-digits of your FEIN.

If you don't want to share this personal information, I highly suggest reaching out to our Phone Support team. They have tools such as screen-sharing (remote access) that can pull up your account in a secure environment and remove the Password Encrypt.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Go to this link and choose QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
  2. On the What can we help you with? section, choose a topic.
  3. Scroll down to Here's how to connect section and click Get Phone Number or Start a Message.

Please let me know everything goes in the comment section. I'm always here if you have any other issues or concerns. Have a good one.
