It is possible there was a glitch. You may try opening a second account and make sure the amount on the right panel is GBP 1.2 + VAT prior to clicking the green button of Sign Up.
Then contact Support to ask for the refund of your first account.

You should chat with Support to ask the refund after you have no issue with the second account. Let them help to cancel the first account later.
