i want to upgrade my account, but when going into billing and subscription it gives me an error code and says i must have apple or google billing. how do i change this. thanks

Hi there, @bb2017.

 

I want to ensure you'll get past the error so you can upgrade your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

 

Before we start, please know that there are different ways of upgrading QBO depending on how you purchase it.

 

If you have subscribed through the app store, please follow the steps below:

 

Google Play (Android):

  1. Open a web browser and sign in to your Google Wallet account.
  2. Select Payments & subscriptions.
  3. Choose the subscription plan you want to upgrade.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions. 
  5. Once done, select Save.

 

App Store (iPhone or iPad):

  1. Go to your device’s Settings menu.
  2. Select iTunes App Store.
  3. Choose your Apple ID, then View Apple ID.
  4. Enter your Apple ID password.
  5. Under Subscriptions, select Manage.
  6. Select your QuickBooks Online subscription, then make the necessary changes.
  7. Once done, select Save.

 

If you subscribed online directly through QBO, here's what you'll need to do:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary or company admin.
  2. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  3. Select Account and settings.
  4. In the left menu, click Billing & Subscription.
  5. Make sure your payment info is up-to-date.
  6. In the QuickBooks Online section, select Upgrade your plan.
  7. Review the available plans.
  8. Select Choose plan.
  9. Follow the onscreen steps to upgrade your plan.
  10. Once done, click Save.
