Authentication Error

When I try to log in to the QBO Communitay page for example to make a post I get Authentication errors, credentials incorrect, etc messages although I can log in to my Intuit account. Sometimes on the Community page on top right I see a round circle with initials of my username and I think when I click that it gives my username (email ID) and an option to log in to the community page.

When I change browser from Chrome to Firefox I could log into the Intuit account and also the Community page where i am writing this post. I am not sure if it was one log in or two log ins. Currently as I type on the top right I see the round circle icon with my initials which when I click I see my username (email ID) with an option to visit the Community page. On the left of this icon I see icon of 3 people and when I click the drop down arrow beside it I see the usual options of 1) My profile, 2) Notification and 3) Sign out.

This means there is a) Intuit log which lets one to sign in to Intuit page and b) QBO the set of Books. Then there is c) Community page log in. What comes first ,where, how, whether independent, etc is all confusing.

Could someone shed some light with step by step instructions?

The options such as My Profile, Notifications, Messages, and Sign Out are only accessible once you are signed in to the Community forum. HAM9. Allow me to provide some insights regarding the Community Forum.

While Intuit and the Community Forum are different pages, you can conveniently use the same login credentials to access both sites. To sign in to the Community Forum, you will need to log in to your Intuit account first. Depending on your browser settings and history, after logging into Intuit, you may be directly routed to the Community page. However, there may be times when you might have to sign in again to access the Community Forum.

If you like to explore articles or manage your account, you can visit the community page and log in using your Intuit credentials.

To directly access the community forum to ask questions, share ideas, or offer solutions, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Community page.
  2. Hover over the Community dropdown menu and select Community Home.

  3. Click on Sign In button.
  4. Enter your Intuit credentials.
  5. Hit Sign in.

By following these steps, you will be routed directly to the community forum, eliminating the need to log in twice. Once signed in, a three-person icon will appear, indicating that you are successfully signed in to the community forum page.

If you find yourself repeatedly routed to the same login page after attempting to sign in, please consider logging in via private or incognito mode to check if browser data is affecting your access.

Here's how to perform private or incognito browsing on different browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N.

If you can successfully log in using private or incognito mode, I recommend clearing your browser cache and please try to log in again in regular browser mode.

Additionally, I've included an article that you may find helpful in the future. This outlines how to recover your Intuit Account in QuickBooks. For more information please check this article: Recover your Intuit Account if you can’t sign in.

If you have more questions about Community logins and the forums, kindly drop by again to this thread.
