If you’re trying to reclassify transactions downloaded from your bank, then changing their categories in bulk isn’t possible. You’ll want to modify them individually to ensure they're posted to the right category.
On the other hand, if they’re added by hand, you can use the Batch update option to change their classification. Here are the steps to do it:
- Open your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
- Go to the Transactions menu.
- Select the entries that you’d like to update a category.
- Click the Edit category button.
- Search "Car expenses" in the field and select it.
- Hit Apply when done.
