When adding the company address, QB insists on me choosing a county from it's list, even if the address is a London address (yes, London is listed as a county on QB) The county is shown on sales invoices as just 2 letters, which makes us look unprofessional and incompetent - if we can't even get our own address correct, what impression does that give our customers ? QB advisors have said that there is nothing I can do to change this so am wondering if anyone's found a work around ?
I understand that you need the county to be displayed as the full name, not just a two-letter abbreviation, in your company address, bev38. Let me provide some information about this.
Using the full county name instead of just the abbreviation is important since you are offering products to your customers. However, this feature is currently not available in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
In the meantime, I recommend sending your feedback to our Product Engineers. They will review your suggestion and may consider adding it in a future update.

Is there any way you can delete the county field from sales invoices completely as it looks awful.
Removing the county field alone on sales invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is unavailable, angelac3.
In QBO, removing the County field alone from sales invoices is unavailable since address details are grouped as a single block. As a workaround, to delete the County field, you must uncheck the 'Street Address' box within the custom form style.
However, this will remove the entire company street address, city, state, and ZIP code as well. Therefore, if you need to keep any part of the detailed physical company address, the County field will have to remain.

This was available BEFORE QB updated to the 'new experience'. I have 2 companies that have the 'new' experience - both with the problem, and 1 that is still on the previous version which still shows addresses in the correct UK format. I spent over 1 hour screen-sharing all 3 accounts last week and was eventually told, after a discussion with the tech dept, that showing a 2 letter code instead of a county was correct..... and couldn't be changed back. Even switching the 2 companies back to the previous version does not work. QB is giving us the US system, which does show the states as a 2 letter code - Michigan = MI. Probably because they are owned by Intuit.
There are previous reports of the problem on here dating back to 2019, so seeing as this is a re-occurence QB or Intuit must know the solution.
I, for one, am no longer impressed with the way Intuit appear to be americanising QB and I certainly do not want to be sending out 'forms', which now look very unprofessional, with my incorrectly formatted address to my customers.
The Royal Mail website states that for mail to the UK (from the UK) the County is not required. Even this is preferable to having 2 random letters on their own line which no-one apart from QB know what they mean.
I will certainly be looking at other options with a view to migrating if this is not rectified soon.
Have QB/Intuit found a fix yet?

Hi Jayne
In response to your reply to Kimi, who made the point perfectly, I spoke to support about this issue before posting and was told the software was doing exactly what it was supposed to and if I wasn't happy with, I should post feedback to the developers, which I have done as it is not incorrect.
Kimi is absolutely correct with it being available and not. I have been using Quickbooks with clients as an accountant for over 10 years and this issue keeps coming and going. It is obviously possible for Quickbooks to correct this as it has dropped to 2 letters in the past and been corrected, so perhaps someone can put it right again! There has obviously been something changed during the last update that needs reversing.
Perhaps you can pass this on to the developers at Quickbooks and get them to correct the error as it looks very unprofessional. The client it was picked up on is new to Quickbooks and has had to come to me twice for initial training now as the first time the software was not working correctly and so I couldn't show him how to do anything. This is now making him question whether we are doing a good job recommending this software to him as so far his experience is not overly positive. Please sort things out as we are all looking pretty rubbish at the moment!!
