Hi there, claire23.
To ensure that we're on the same page, is your new user an accountant? If so, this has been reported as an ongoing issue. Our Product engineers are now working to fix this as soon as possible.
I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team, so they can add you to our notification list. This will help our engineers determine the number of affected users. And, you'll also receive an update through email once this has been resolved.
Here's how to contact them:
1. Open your QuickBooks Account.
2. At the top right, click the Help icon.
3. Click Contact Us.
4. Under What can we help you with?, enter your concern about inviting a user.
5. Click Let's Talk.
6. You'll be routed into the Choose a way to connect with us page.
7. Select how you want to contact them and fill in the information.
If your new user is not an accountant, the invited user need to use the login credential they set up in the email invitation link. This might be the reason the newly invited user receives with a prompt saying ID not recognized.
If they don't remember their login info, I suggest clicking the I forgot my user ID or password link at the bottom of the screen to reset the login credentials. For the steps and details, you can check out this article: Reset your password or recover your user ID.
Please check this article to see more information in managing QuickBooks access: Add, delete, or change user access. This also provides steps on how you can delete a user, or edit a user’s access.
Keep me in the loop if you need anything else with the user's access. Just hit the Reply button below and I'll be sure to answer them.
