So our IT people were on a chat with someone at QB UK yesterday.
They were told that QB 2013 enterprise (which we have) will stop working on the 31st January 2023.
Surely this cant be real as its a standalone desktop program and not connected to QB servers ? Its not online at all ?
QB need to put out a statement on this as if you you could ruin a lot of businesses that run on this version of QB.
RSVP.

I'm not surprised any support team will say that your license will stop working after January 2023. In our experience, any outdated version (US, UK, or CA) will still work as long as your license is not a subscription version. The potential problem is regarding the validation code. After January 2023, support won't bother to give the code anymore. If you don't have one, you should try contacting Support to ask about it immediately. We are still helping to obtain the one-time license for QBD 2020 UK version (Pro/Premier) for our clients and have been informed of this "policy".
The second potential issue is your edition (i.e. QB Desktop Enterprise). When was the last time you reinstalled your license? Since 2021, we have received reports of some issues where QBD US Enterprise users reinstall their licenses of outdated versions. It appears that the Intuit servers have rejected any activation attempts even if they have the validation code. Most of them have downgraded their company files to work on QBD Pro/Premier.
Hello there, useraccounts25.
Allow me to share additional information to clear up your confusion about the discontinuation of QuickBooks Desktop UK versions.
QuickBooks Desktop subscriptions will cease to work after 31 January, 2023. Support and access will stop after this date for all subscribed users. Customers using stand alone licenses that don't use any add-on services or require live technical support, can continue to access the program. This means, you can continue working using your 2013 version after the said date.
I suggest checking out the following link and reading the frequently asked questions. This will provide more clarification about this subject: QuickBooks Desktop is being discontinued.
Should you wish going with QBO, I recommend reading this article: Product feature comparison for QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
Please don't hesitate to post again if need further clarification about the product discontinuation. I'm always here to help you out.
