Hello Userphotos1,

Welcome to the Community page,

What exactly happens when you try to connect your PayPal account up in Quickbooks?

Do you get any error codes or messages showing up at all?

Thanks, I get "

There's a message on your bank's website that needs your attention

Sign in to your bank's website and respond to any new messages. If this doesn't solve the problem, we have some more tips to help you. (108)"

But I have been back and forth in my paypal account and cannot find anything.  Does paypal and quickbooks connect with the 2 factor authentication? as it only seems to have stopped since that came in.

Thanks for that, I have tried to follow that article a number of times now since 2 factor authentication was started on paypal a month or two back.

I've just tried it again, and Im afraid to say I have exactly the same result.

I have called paypal on a number of occasions and they have told me there is no messages.

I assume quickbooks works with two factor authentication?

Thanks

Yes, QuickBooks works with two-factor authentication without issues and I'm here to clearly explain about this, userphotos1.

The two-factor authentication is an extra layer of security where a one-time confirmation code is given when you log in.

If you're using the Connect to Paypal app, this handles transactions the same way as other bank transactions which you can easily edit, categorize, and match transactions in QuickBooks once connected. You can manually update your Paypal transactions to fetch banking transactions that are not captured during the automatic update.

Here's how:

  1. Click Banking from the left menu.
  2. Go to the Banking tab.
  3. Select Paypal
  4. Click the Update button at the top right.

You'll want to download the transactions from your bank and manually upload them in QuickBooks Online.

For reference, check out these help articles if you have any questions about QuickBooks.

As always, feel free to let us know if you have questions about QuickBooks. I'll be one click away in case you need help from us.

@userphotos1

Utilize the trial period of this connector. Did you encounter the same problem?

Hi @userphotos1

did you manage to find a solution? I’ve just signed up to quickbooks and this is a make or break for me. Please let me know if you fixed the issue

Hello, Claire Alsop.

Thanks for joining the thread. I'm here to guide you to fix this.

Did you encounter the same error message 108 when connecting your PayPal into QuickBooks? If so, please ensure to follow the steps provided by my colleague above.

As a workaround, you'll want to manually upload your bank transactions. You can download the CSV file or QBO file format through your bank's website.

Here's how to upload CSV or QBO file:

  1. In QuickBooks Online, go to the Banking or Transaction menu.
  2. Select Upload transactions.
  3. Choose Browse and then click the file you downloaded from your bank.
  4. Hit Next.
  5. In the QuickBooks account dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transaction into, then click Next.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct field in QuickBooks. Then hit Next.
  7. Choose the transactions you would like to import. Then click Next.
  8. Hit Yes.
  9. When you're ready, select Let's go.

If the issue persists, I'd suggest reaching out to our Online Support. They'll be able to check your account in a secure environment to check the cause of it.

Here's how:

  1. Click on the Help (?) icon.
  2. Press Contact Us.
  3. Enter your issue/topic.
  4. Hit Let's talk.
  5. Choose Chat or Get a callback.
