Why can't my accountant access my accounts when he in fact received the invitation email from QB and acted upon it. What do I need to do?

Hello there, @userjacob-abboud.

I'm here to help your accountant access your company using his credentials in QuickBooks Online.

To do this, I'd like to know if your accountant received an error message. If there's none, you can let your accountant use an incognito window, clear the cache, or use an alternative browser to access QuickBooks. This is done to avoid saving data that may cause this issue. Or you can re-invite him again using another email account.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Settings and select Manage users.
  2. Click the Accounting Firm tab and locate the accountant.
  3. Under the Action column, click on the drop-down button, and choose Delete.

Once you have the new email from your accountant, you can invite him again, follow Steps 1 and 2 above. Then, enter the email address in the text box, select the Invite button. This is how it looks like:

I've also added a reference for this topic, in case you want to know more about the process: Invite an accountant to review your accounting in QuickBooks Online.

You may consider checking this article for future reference if you want what are the users doing in your QuickBooks Online: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.

You can always tag my name in the comment section if you have other questions. It will be my pleasure to help you further. Take care always.

Many thanks for the prompt response.

I don't believe he received an error but what he said was that when he tried access, he was able to access QB for another client but could not see my company accounts ! any ideas why?

Hello, userjacob-abboud.

To make sure we're on the same page. Have your accountant tried accessing the account through a private browser? It could be that the one you're currently working on has a temporary problem with QuickBooks Online.

However, if the same thing happens using a private browser, I suggest reaching out to our customer support team. This way, we'll be able to pull up your account in a secure session and look over the underlying issue and help get back to business in no time.

Here's how to contact our support team:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company. Then click Help (?)
  2. Click Talk to a human.
  3. Choose Talk to a human.
  4. Enter your concern.
  5. Tap Contact us
  6. Choose either:
  • Post a question
  • Message an agent
  • Get a callback

Check out our support hours and contact us at a time convenient to you: Support hours and types.

If you have any other concern, leave a comment below. I'll be here to assist you. Have a great day!
