When my trial comes to an end, is the subscription automatic, or will it only subscribe if I choose to?

I'm here to share that QuickBooks Online (QBO) will automatically charge your billing account once the free trial ends, chris-needs05-ho.

Just make sure the card on file is active. You can also subscribe before the trial expires to keep using the data that's already been established in the trial account.

Let me show you the steps.

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon.
  3. Select Account and Settings.
  4. Go to the Billing & Subscription menu.
  5. Click the Subscribe button in the QuickBooks [plan] section.
  6. Enter the updated billing information.
  7. Click Subscribe.

I’ve attached this information to learn how to manage subscriptions in the program: Manage billing, payment, and subscription info in QBO. It has steps to view your billing history and a way to update the card on file.

I'd be glad to answer any additional questions concerning the moving process. Just leave a message. I’ll be here. Have a great day!

@chris-needs05-ho

You can pay for it or have your trial account cancelled. Keep in mind, if you decide to pay for it, you'll be paying the normal rate. The discounted rate applies only when clicking the Buy button when opening your account for the first time.

Thank you for joining this thread, Alan.

It can be quite frustrating when you're unsure about the necessary steps to take to cancel it. I'm here to help and assist you through the process.

Canceling your subscription may vary depending on where you signed up. If you purchased it through a mobile app store, you'll need to go to your app store to cancel.

It's important to note that when you cancel the account, you’ll still have read-only access to your data for one year. You can go over this article for more in-depth information: What happens to my QuickBooks Online data after I cancel?

I recommend exporting or printing your data to keep a copy of the company file (future use). When you're ready, follow these steps to unsubscribe from your account:

  1. Sign in to QBO as the primary or company admin.
  2. In your company, tap the Gear icon in the upper-right and select Account and settings under Your Company.
  3. Head to the Billing & subscription menu on the left panel to see more details.
  4. In the QuickBooks section, click the Cancel subscription link and tap the Continue to cancel button to open the Cancel QuickBooks Plus page.
  5. From there, press the Continue to cancel link.
  6. You’ll see a pop-up confirming your subscription is canceled and select Got it.

To learn more about the cancellation process, see this article: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription or trial. From there, you'll know how to unsubscribe from your account purchased from a mobile app store.

Additionally, you can verify the cancellation status of the account by heading to the Billing & subscription section. Here's how to get there:

  1. Click on the Gear icon in the upper right and select Account and settings.
  2. Head to the Billing & subscription on the left panel.
  3. Under the QuickBooks section, check if the status says "Canceled"
  4. This will allow you to confirm that the cancellation went through as expected.

In case you'd like to resubscribe in the future. We'd love to have you back. Bookmark this link for further guidance: Reactivate QuickBooks Online.
