Basically 2 years ago I opened an account with a view to migrating but did not manage to get it done and now you guys have the partnership in place that migrates 2 years of data so I do not have to do it myself I want to try again but do not want to use the old account - I really did not have a clue when setting it all up and much prefer to start a fresh the only problem is when I tried to start a new account and entered my emails it says I can not use it because its been used on another account, it is the same for the name and unfortunately I need the same email and same name for my new account so how should I proceed? Can QB archive the old account for me so it is like I am starting as a new customer? Sorry for longwinded reply and enjoy your evening
Hi there, Simmon. I'm joining the thread to assist you with setting up a new QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
You can create a new account with the same credentials as your canceled subscription and utilize it moving forward. You don't need to open or use the old account, as it won't affect the new one.
Follow the steps provided by my colleague above, or see the visual references below to help you set it up:
I'd recommend contacting our Live Support team if you still want to archive the old account permanently. This way, you'll be unable to see it when logging in to your credentials.
Once done, you can adjust the settings and get started with your QuickBooks navigation.
If you want to change your user ID, password, and email address moving forward, refer to this article: Update or change your Intuit Account sign-in information.
You can count on me if you have further inquiries about setting up an account or any other QuickBooks-related matters. I'm at your service 24/7.
