App and computer mileage not synced

Hi there, Kyle.

Thanks for sharing this in the Community space. Let me share some information on how to sync the mileage created from the mobile app to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

There are possible reasons why your mileage can't sync on your computer. It could be due to your mobile app or the browser you used to sync this data. With this, I recommend performing the troubleshooting steps for both the app and the browser. This way, we could point out the cause of this syncing issue.

Let's start with your mobile app. First, you need to check the location settings on your device and allow the QuickBooks app to run in the background.

Next, you can fine-tune the mileage settings to improve the accuracy of the mileage information. To do so, you can follow the steps below to enable those settings:

  1. Select the Menu ☰ icon.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Select Mileage settings.
  4. To improve accuracy in slow-moving traffic, Turn on the Track slow speed trips setting to improve accuracy in slow-moving traffic
  5. Turn on the Boost location accuracy setting to improve accuracy in recording addresses.

You can also turn off the background data and battery restrictions that can interfere with the tracking. You can also update the app to the latest version to improve the app's performance.

If you're using an Apple device, you can visit this link to fix the mileage issues: Fix mileage tracking issues in QuickBooks Self-Employed for iOS.

On the other hand, once you finish troubleshooting your mobile app, you can fix your browser. Cached-induced browsers can affect the program's performance and can hinder data syncing. To start with, you can open your QuickBooks account using an incognito or a private browser. Here

are the shortcut keys for guidance:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Check if you can now see the mileage you create in the app. If this works, you can clear the browser's cache to eliminate the cause of the issue and start with a clean slate.

Additionally, you can export mileage info like mileage logs and reports from QuickBooks Self-Employed to get ready for filing taxes and claiming travel deductions.

You're always welcome to comment back if you have other concerns about syncing mileage or other QuickBooks-related inquiries. The Community will be a click away and ready to assist you. Have a great day ahead!
