Thanks for being a part of the QuickBooks family, bushy402.

I'd be delighted to address your concern in regard to disconnecting a bank account.

Removing an account in QuickBooks Online won't delete the transactions associated with it. You'll need to open each and manually delete them one at a time.

Once done, you can proceed with disconnecting the bank account. Please refer to the steps below:

1.    Click the Banking menu from the left navigation panel.
2.    Choose the Banking tab at the top of your screen.
3.    Select the account you want to change, then click the Edit (pencil) icon and Edit account info button.
4.    In the Account window, select the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.
5.    Click the Save and Close button to finish.

Note: (UK banks only) If you disconnect or delete a direct feeds account for a bank in the UK and you want to reconnect it later, you'll need to complete all the connection steps again. This includes reauthorizing the bank by completing, printing, signing, and posting the authorization form.

After following these steps, I'm confident that you'll be able to disconnect the specific bank account and start fresh.

Feel free to post again in the Community if you need more help. I'm just a post away. Have a pleasant day ahead!

Bank account

Just to make sure I am not messing everything up, if I open my register and delete all the entries, what will that do to the invoices that already show paid?  Do I just have to match them up again?

Hi bushy402.

If all the payments associated with paid invoices are deleted then this would revert the invoices to an unpaid state as there are no payments associated.

So if you connect your bank account again you ill be able to match the payments against the outstanding invoices.

I will mention however that if you wanted to keep the bank account connected and just start again with the transactions, you would just be able to under all of the transactions from the banking page which would just move all the transactions back into the review page.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Bank account

Hi Bushy,

You can disconnect your bank account as per earlier answers (using the pencil in the banking section).

This will delete out all of the transactions in the 'For Review' section that have not yet been allocated within QuickBooks. It will not however delete out all historical transactions that you have allocated into the 'In QuickBooks' tab.

May I ask the reason why you want to clear out and start over so I can get a better understanding of how to help.

Kind Regards,

Emily
