Bank connection error

For months and months my bank connection returns an error on attempting, despite running through the whole process of giving my permission etc. upon returning to the QuickBooks site (self employed) it just says there's been a problem and to try again later. I've tried from desktop, phone, and the app....I'm literally paying a monthly subscription for nothing. Its beyond behind and profits or losses are only guess work in my head atm my head

Bank connection error

I understand how important it is for you to add your bank successfully in QBO, Shereelouise. The online banking feature speeds up the process of data entry.

The "try again" message is often caused by several reasons which include the following:

  • Your financial institution isn't allowing us to connect and retrieve your data.
  • The bank has additional security requirements or authorization that need to be addressed, such as a security question or one-time passcode.
  • QuickBooks is unable to locate your account on your bank or financial institution's website.

I appreciate your letting us know in advance of the troubleshooting steps you already tried, including logging in to the app and web version of QBSE. Can you also tell us the name of the bank? This is for us to check if there's an open alert about this.

In the meantime, allow me to share these troubleshooting steps that can resolve some of the most common issues when connecting banks in QBSE:

By following these steps, you can troubleshoot the "Try again later" error message when adding a bank account in QuickBooks.

Alternatively, you can ask for a CSV copy of your transactions from your bank. Then, import it in QBSE. Here's an article as a guide: Manually Import Transactions Into QuickBooks Self-Employed.
