Hi
I am new to online QBs (transferred over from Desktop)
My issue is that a customer has overpaid us. So when I go through banking transactions to match the payment the specific invoices I have a remaining balance. I want to leave the amount on our customers statement as the overpayment is pennies.
When I go through resolution at the bottom of the screen, I select the customer account and then Accounts Receivable when I then press save I get an error telling me that I need to specify a VAT rate. I have tried selecting my Out of scope VAT rate (as this does not get reported on the VAT return and is how I have managed to post other non-VAT amounts such as wages) but I then get an error saying that I can not specify a VAT rate for Accounts Recievable!
Any ideas as to what I need to do, TIA

Hello HCYT,
Welcome to the Community page,
So there should be a code called No VAT that you can use. If that is not there to select then you may need a VAT code refresh done. So you would need to ring the support line on 0808 234 5337 and they will be able to raise it up and get it done for you the line is open mon to fri 8am to 7pm and is free from UK mob & landlines.
