Banking Rules For Bank Deposits was incorrectly setup to The Sales Account in the P&L

Hi my banking rule for deposits in my automatic bank feed was setup to post to the "Sales Account" in the P&L. I have changed the rule to go to Debtors account .How do I correct the historic mispostings in the sales account as they should be matched off against Debtors . Many thanks for any suggestions

Thanks for posting in the Community space, @HelenMcK.

You can undo the transactions that are posted to the Sales account. This way, you can manually add it or match the transaction. Let me guide you how:

1. Click the Banking tab in the left navigation bar.

2. Make sure the correct account that you need to work in is highlighted in blue at the top of the page.

3. Select the In QuickBooks tab.

4. Place a checkmark in the box(es) for the transactions you'd like to undo.

5. Click the Undo button that appears at the top of the list.

These transactions will then be moved back to the For Review section. Also, make sure that the bank rule you've used is the correct account.

For more information and detailed steps, please check this article: Unmatch Or Move Bank Transactions After Reviewing Them.
