Allow me to share how to enter your employee's previous salary and taxes from the P6 form, @CATHG.
If you haven't run payroll yet, you can only enter the P6 information (or recently signed up for the service). As a workaround, you can use the Opening Balances to enter the details in the meantime.
Check that the amounts and details in their previous payroll information are valid. You should also consult an accountant to ensure your accounts are accurate and HMRC for tax compliance before proceeding.
To enter the payroll details using the Opening Balances function:
- Go to Payroll.
- Click the Payroll Settings tab.
- Choose Opening Balances under Business Settings.
