How to export customers details in a format that can be imported by QB

Hi Jason. I can share with you some information about the correct format to import your customer details to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You can export your customer details as an Excel CSV file so you can upload them into QBO. You may download the sample file from the Import Data window.

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then click on Import data under Tools.
  3. Tap on Donors on Customers from the list.
  4. Select the download link, then use it as a reference for your CSV file.

Once the file is ready, you can import the details to QuickBooks following these steps:

  1. Select Import Data from the Gear icon.
  2. Tap on Donors or Customers.
  3. Click on Browse to upload the file from your computer. Choose the file, and select Open.
  4. Hit Next.
  5. In the Your Field column, select each small arrow icon. Then, match your field to the corresponding QuickBooks Online field.
  6. Select No Match if you have a field that doesn't have a matching column in your spreadsheet.
  7. Confirm your contacts. Uncheck any that you don't want to save.
  8. If everything looks good, select Import.

If you're importing the details from your email contacts, you can use this article as your reference: Import customers or suppliers from email contacts to QuickBooks Online.

Aside from customer lists, you can also bring your products and services into QuickBooks. You can use this link as your guide: Import products and services into QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have any other follow-up questions about the supported format when importing customer details to QuickBooks. I'm always here to help. Have a good one!

How to export customers details in a format that can be imported by QB

Hi there!

It depends what system your are trying to pull the data from, but we created a tool called Cloudslurp to help do this.

You can download complete data sets of customers etc from tools like Pipedrive, Salesforce, Xero and others ready for import into Quickbooks! You can customise the output style using standard SQL.

Check it out https://www.cloudslurp.com
