HSBC Open banking feeds, I have a few clients who use HSBC credit cards and deposit accounts. When will open banking feeds become available for these?

I am getting Error message 324 which means my clients accounts are not supported by open banking feeds. I am aware of the options to import statements into quickbooks however my clients are not happy having to do this with multiple credit card accounts and deposit accounts it is time consuming. Per the online community information HSBC open banking feeds are available however this just appears to be for current accounts. So I would like to know when accounts other than just current accounts are going to be available via the open banking feeds? Also if they are not going to be available any time soon is there a way to go back to the old bank feeds which worked?

Hello Lj8,

Im sure credit card accounts are on open banking, we know deposit accounts are not, it may come out soon in the near future, but currently, you will have to just csv the transactions into the account. There is no way of going back to the old feed as it has been disconnected. Our banking team is working closely with the banks to get all accounts onto the new open banking.

Hi Ashleigh1

Please could you confirm that HSBC credit cards work as my client is receiving error 324 for their HSBC credit cards and the feeds have not come through since the 03/04/2020. If they definitely do work that is great news and I can put my client in touch with your technical department to fix their problem. However based upon my research HSBC credit cards are not supported by open banking feeds and based upon the error messages I am receiving this would suggest I am correct in my assumption.

Thanks LJ8.

There was a new HSBC "bank feed" that you could connect to for HSBC Bank (UK) - Business Banking – Other Accounts.  Whilst it was not open banking it did allow me to connect the commercial / credit card and worked for a about a week. It worked like a standard feed ie you had to enter the code each time you wanted to update the Credit Card but at least it was easier than CSV imports.

However it no longer works and I am not able to reconnect to it

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, @cpjelectrics.

I appreciate you for sharing with us the account type as well as for detailed information about the issue. Let me share some information on why the bank feeds no longer works.

HSBC Bank (UK) - Business Banking – Other Accounts is Open Banking ready, so you’ll have to switch over to the new connection to continue using the bank feeds. To do that, check the banner on the Banking menu and then link the account from there.

Here’s how:

  1. Tap the Banking menu on the left panel to choose the Banking option.
  2. On the Bank and Cards page, click on the Update now link.
  3. This will display another page where you’ll have to select the Agree button to confirm the connection.
  4. When the HSBC’s online banking page opens, follow the steps displayed on the website on how to authorise QuickBooks to connect to your bank account.
  5. Once completed, you’ll automatically be taken back to QBO.
  6. From there, choose HSBC Bank (UK) - Business Banking – Other Accounts.
  7. Hit the Connect menu and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

However, if you receive Error 324 or run into any hurdles, perform the recommended resolution in this article: Connect your HSBC Business Current, Savings accounts, and Credit Cards in QuickBooks.

It outlines the complete steps on how to fix the error as well as steps to reconnect the HSBC Bank (UK) - Business Banking – Other Accounts. Additionally, the following links contain the complete list of financial institutions supported for Open Banking and a video tutorial for visual reference.

Stay in touch if you need further assistance while working in QBO. I’ll be right here to help you. Have a good one.

Thanks for the reply however I was a beta user in the UK for the HSBC Other Accounts and the testing of it. My comments were that it did work and now it has stopped. I was informed that it was NOT an Open Banking connection. So as is often the case with issues with HSBC banking connections I will leave it for several more days then try again

regards

Chris
