Hi lisasinclair3
What is happening when you attempt to connect/update your bank account, are you receiving any error message or code?
So,
I can see posts that are going back almost 2 years asking exactly the same question.
"Is anyone having problems connecting Yorkshire Bank/Clydesdale bank to their account?"
There is then a stock reply/generic answer from QuickBooks showing you how to connect a bank account OR very helpfully guiding you on how to spend a much lengthier amount of time downloading a CSV file and then importing it.
For 2 years the same answer keeps appearing. Follow these steps/ We'll pass it on to our tech team/We are waiting for open banking.
It isn't good enough. You are advertising your product stating that it will connect to all the banks.
It doesn't.
There are hundreds of threads on here by disgruntled people that should be out making their business a success but are having to spend a large amount of their time doing something which is being paid to work for them.
WHAT IS HAPPENING? What is the current situation? When is it going to happen?
Yorkshire and Clydesdale banks have merged. They are offering 2 years FREE business accounts.
There are going to be LOTS of people switching to them and then finding out that QuickBooks cannot create a secure link to the account.
It will cost QuickBooks financially if this fix isn't found.
I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I am starting to look at other packages.
As a company, we currently have 27 people using QuickBooks.
Please, please, PLEASE someone fix it!
An update.
XERO has this on their website.
It looks likely that QuickBooks/Yorkshire bank will have compatibility issues until at least Feb 2020.

Hi Milcare,
I appreciate you keeping an eye about the Clydesdale/Yorkshire bank connection issues with QuckBooks Online (QBO).
Since you're still unable to connect the account in QBO, I highly recommend reaching out to our Online Banking Support Team. They'll be able to initiate a remote session and escalate this for further isolation.

Thanks for visiting the Community. Please let me know if you have any follow-ups or other questions. I'm here to help. Have a good one.
Whilst I appreciate the reply, I'm not sure what I will achieve by putting my energy into this.
This route has already been explored by others with no solution.
You already know there is a problem so I'm not sure how by reporting it again it is going to provide any resolution.
What might be a very good option to follow is that of Xero and highlight what the problems are and the timeframes to when they might be rectified.
Hi.
This is the 1June 2020 back in August 2019 I spent a considerable amount of time on the helpline and online support to QB and to Yorkshire Bank with this issue. I was told it would be a couple of months and it would fully compatible. What a load of rubbish. It doesn’t work, it will never work and my advice to you is not to change QB but to change Banks. The QB product is ok, it has its problems and glitches and I’m sure Xero and Sage also have similar issues but the fact is the problem lies with YB antiquated out of date and quite frankly appalling banking app and online banking service.
As any business will tell you, changing accounting software isn’t easy, changing bank account is.
We we’re advised to switch to YB from RBS as part of the business banking switch scheme with the promise that YB and QB were fully compatible! Don’t believe everything you read but believe this.
Yorkshire Bank and Quickbooks Online will never be able to sort out direct banking feeds, why, because they can’t be bothered.
From a very dissopointed QB and YB customer.
Thanks for joining this thread, Martin Boardman,
I appreciate you contacting our Support Team to get the issue with Yorkshire Bank fixed. And, for sharing your in-depth thoughts about the connection.
Due to the new Open Banking regulations, our Online Banking Team had to upgrade the bank feeds to comply with it.
The connection for Yorkshire is now available and you'll want to upgrade it. This will help re-establish the connection between your financial institution and QuickBooks.
To do so, the following steps shown below will guide you through:
Feel free to read through this article for more details: Understanding if you can upgrade your bank feeds to Open Banking. It provides a list of financial institutions and what actions you need to take.
Stay in touch if there's anything else I can help you today. Just tag my name and I'll get back to you.
