Quickbooks is asking for a 5 digit PIN for Amex

Quickbooks says a 5 digit PIN is required for Amex bank feed. The PIN in Amex is only 4 digits when I reset it. Anyone know where to find or set the PIN for Amex Credit Card?

Quickbooks is asking for a 5 digit PIN for Amex

We're glad to have you here, @pjonesmn. Let me ensure you'll get the help you need setting up a pin for an American Express (AmEx) credit card in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

First, we can check if there are multiple AmEx entries in your list of available bank accounts. If there are, ensure you've selected the correct AmEx credit card account. It's possible that a different bank is selected, causing QBDT to request a different number of pin digits.

If the issue persists after confirming the type of AmEx account, I'd recommend reaching out to our customer support. This way, we can request a screen-sharing session with them in a secure setting so they can determine why QBDT is asking for a 5-digit pin instead of a 4. They'll also be able to walk you through setting up a pin for your AmEx card so we can connect it to online banking.

I'll share this article for further information about linking your bank and credit card accounts to QBDT: Set up or edit bank accounts for Bank Feeds in QuickBooks Desktop. It contains a series of references that covers basic info about bank feeds, so we don't have to record bank transactions manually.

Moreover, we suggest reconciling your accounts once a month. By doing this, we can ensure that the transactions we've entered into QBDT are consistent with your actual bank statements.

Let me know in the replies below if you have clarifications about connecting your credit card to QBDT. The Community is available 24/7 to take care of your concerns. Stay safe!
