I cannot connect to Chase UK Bank Account. Is there an issue with this?

I'll help you resolve the connection issue between your bank account and QuickBooks Online, Paul.

Currently, there are no similar issues reported in the QuickBooks Community regarding connecting Chase UK bank accounts to QuickBooks.

You may have an issue linking or connecting to your bank in QuickBooks Online (QBO) based on the following criteria:

  • Your bank has multiple names on our list. Make sure you have selected the correct listing or have tried all possible links. Search by the banking sign-in URL to ensure you are using the correct listing.
  • Your bank doesn't connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs business accounts).

Your bank's URL will be automatically updated in QuickBooks as long as it is supported for online banking connections. To ensure we're linking the correct account, as an initial step, let's log in to the bank's website. Once signed in, copy the bank URL and use it to search, then link the correct account in QuickBooks. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu and choose Banking.
  2. Select the Link account.
  3. In the Search field, enter the bank's URL.
  4. Click your bank. If you see multiple options, you may have to repeat these steps to find the correct one.
  5. Enter your bank login on your bank's website, then select Continue.

Once connected, QuickBooks will automatically download your most recent transactions. I recommend categorising them in the For Review tab to ensure they will be posted in your account's register.

Alternatively, you can manually import transactions into QuickBooks. After reviewing them, you can reconcile your accounts to ensure they match your bank statements.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any other questions or issues regarding bank connections with QuickBooks. I'm here to help.

I cannot connect to Chase UK Bank Account. Is there an issue with this?

I’ve been informed by Chase customer services that automatic importing is not available to me in the UK for my personal account.
I’ve attempted several times with no success.

Does your solution apply to UK personal debit accounts?

I cannot connect to Chase UK Bank Account. Is there an issue with this?

I appreciate the steps you've taken to ensure you can connect your bank account to QuickBooks Online, Gero. Rest assured, I'm here to ensure you can keep your books updated.

Since automatic importing is currently unavailable, we can efficiently keep your QuickBooks records up to date by manually uploading the bank transactions from your debit account.

Before we dive into the manual upload process, let's first check your Chart of Accounts to identify the oldest existing transaction in your account:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon, then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the account where you want to upload the transactions.
  3. Click Account History, then find the oldest transaction.
  4. Take note of the Date.

Once you’ve got that information, log into your bank's website and download a CSV file containing your transactions. Please note that each financial institution has its unique procedures for this process.

Before proceeding, take a moment to review the downloaded file to ensure it's in the correct format.

With everything ready, we can now manually upload your bank transactions:

  1. Navigate to Transactions and select Bank Transactions.
  2. Select the Blue Tile for the account to which you want to upload the transactions.
  3. Click the Link account ▼ dropdown, then choose Upload from the file.

  4. Note: If your account has not yet been connected to online banking, pick Upload transactions. image (3).png
  5. Click Drag and drop or select files and choose the file you downloaded from your bank. Then, select Continue.

  6. In the QuickBooks Account ▼ dropdown, select the account where you want to upload the transactions. Then, choose Continue.
  7. Note: If you're new to QuickBooks, you may not have an account to upload the transactions. If you don't see one, select Add new ▼ from the dropdown to create a new bank account.
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions to align the columns in the file with the corresponding fields in QuickBooks. Then, click Continue.
  9. Choose the transactions you would like to import. Then click Continue.
  10. Click Yes to confirm, and select Done.

Now that your transactions are in QuickBooks, you might want to match and categorize them to link them together so you don't get duplicates.

You might also want to reconcile your account so they always match your bank and credit card statements.

I'm glad we could walk through this together, Gero. If you require further assistance in uploading your transactions, I'll be here to help. Keep safe.
