Thanks for reaching out to us, Tizyo. I'm here to assist you with troubleshooting steps to help you import your Google trips in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

Since there's an error message when you import your Google trips, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this. There are times when the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, which causes some errors or unusual responses.

Here's how to access incognito mode in some of the most commonly used web browsers:

  •  Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

Once logged in, try to import the Google trips again. If things are working, then it's likely the browser that's causing the issue. It can be fixed by clearing your cache and cookies. You can also switch to a different supported browser.

On the other hand, you can manually add your trips in QBSE.

Additionally, to find out how QuickBooks Self-Employed calculates the mileage you can deduct from your taxes. Refer to this article for future reference: Learn about standard mileage and actual expense deduction methods.

Don't hesitate to post here in the Community if you have additional concerns about mileage in QBSE. I'm always here to help.

Thanks for your reply. None of this works unfortunately. I'm using Chrome on a chromebook and have tried different laptops and browsers too.

I appreciate you taking the time to solve this issue, Tizyo. Please know that this is not the experience we want you to have while utilizing the service.

Since you already took the troubleshooting steps above. In this case, I recommend contacting our customer support team. They can access your account in a secure environment, isolate the problem, and assist you in resolving it.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Log in to your QBSE account.
  2. Click the Assistant button at the top.
  3. Type Contact Support in the chat box
  4. You'll now be provided with support options that are available at that time.

In the meantime, we can manually add your Google trips in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

Furthermore, I've added this reference to guide you on how to track mileage reimbursements when employees use their personal vehicle when going on business trips: Reimburse employees' mileage and vehicle expenses in QuickBooks Online.

Should you need additional concerns regarding your mileage in QBSE, feel free to post them in the Community space.
