Is it possible to import a excel spreadsheet for mileage?

Hello Community Users, We just wanted to pop in and update this thread with the current import options for mileage into Quickbooks Online. At the moment you can import directly from Mile IQ or from Quickbooks Self Employed via a downloaded CSV file. Any questions at all feel free to add to this thread, we'd be happy to help.

Is it possible to import a excel spreadsheet for mileage?

Hello rgeservices,

Currently it is not possible to import mileage into QuickBooks Online, however the function to import directly from Google Trips and MileIQ will be available in the next release.

Thanks

I can share some information with uploading mileage files in CSV format in QuickBooks Self-Employed, @Stefanm

Currently, you can only upload or import a CSV file of your mileage trips from MileIQ. All you have to do is log into your MileIQ account. Then,

create a report of the mileage data you want, and download it. Locate the report in MileIQ, and select CSV to download a spreadsheet of the report. Once done, follow the steps below.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Miles menu from the left tab.
  2. Click the Add trip dropdown.
  3. Select Import trips and click on MileIQ.
  4. Choose the Select and import button.
  5. Follow the remaining steps on the screen to finish importing your CSV file.

If it's not coming from MileIQ, you may consider adding your trips manually in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

Here's how:

  1. Go back to the Miles menu.
  2. Click the Add trip button.
  3. On the Add Trip window that appears, provide all the necessary information.
  4. Click on Save once done.

Check out these articles for more information about adding, importing, and categorising your trips in QBSE:

You can also use the QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile app to automatically track your business miles. Here's how to turn on mileage tracking and add categorising your trips right after: Automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed

Let me know if you need further information about uploading or importing your trips in QBSE. The Community is always here to assist. Have a wonderful day!

Is it possible to import a excel spreadsheet for mileage?

Can I import to my QuickBooks online account my mileage from and xls or csv file?   Quickbook tracker was  not reliable all last year and only tracked a few of my trips so I had a back up track that I exported data from but need to get it uploaded into quickbooks...how can I do that?

Hello MGervasoni, thanks for posting on this thread, yes you can import the mileage through a CSV file using the example format below.

If you go to expense>mileage> next to add trip click drop down arrow>import trips>click on MileIQ> select the csv file> select and import>ok
