Hi,
I have been using QB for a few years now. I need to switch banks and accounts mid way through this tax year.
I am concerned as to what will happen when I undertake the switch.
Will all my previous banking transactions that I have not yet categorized remain in QB?
I am worried about loosing transactions or them being removed when I close the account I am currently using.
I suppose I'm being irrationally worried but having no prior knowledge of this and with not being able to find a conclusive answer online here I am!
Thanks in advance,
Matthew

Hi Matthew, yes it is as simple as that, once all your transactions in the for review have been reviewed/categorised you just then need to disconnect that account and then connect the new bank account up.
Hi Matthew, thanks for your post. :)
When you disconnect a bank account in QuickBooks Online, only the transactions in the 'For-Review' and 'Excluded' tabs will be removed, and all transactions under the 'Categoised' tab that have been added/matched will remain.
The bank tile will also remove from the banking screen, as this only displays live connections, however, you can still access the account balance and its transactions by going to the Cog > Chart of Accounts > Select 'Account History' beside the relevant account.
Hi GeorgiaC
Thanks for your reply. Very helpful.
We are switching bank accounts so will mow 'catagorise' all transactions so that I don't loose them.
I take it I then disconnect the account and add the new one? It's as simple as that?
Many thanks
Matthew
