Santander business bank account does not link?

Hello there, @jharrisonplumbin. I want to ensure you'll be able to connect your Santander bank account in QuickBooks Online (QBO) seamlessly.

Before we proceed, can you share with me if you're getting any error messages when connecting your account to QuickBooks? This way, I can provide you with the appropriate troubleshooting steps to address the issue. Any additional information you can provide would be really helpful.

Here are the following scenarios of why you're unable to connect Santander Business bank account:

  • Your bank might not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
  • The bank is having system maintenance.
  • Some banks have multiple names on our list. You might want to check and select the correct one or try all possible bank URLs.

To verify, reach out to your bank and check for any maintenance updates. If everything is good from your bank's end, make sure to select the correct FI name when connecting the account.

You may also perform some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue. At times, the accumulated cache in your browser causes sync and connection issues between your bank's website and QuickBooks. Start by accessing your QBO account in a private or incognito window. Please refer to the shortcut keys I've listed below:

  • Ctrl Shift for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift for Firefox & Microsoft Edge
  • Command Shift for Safari

Once you're in, head to the Banking or Transactions menu again. If you're able to connect without any issues, go back to your regular browser and then clear its cache and cookies to start over fresh. If you're still getting the same result, switch to other supported browsers.

However, if the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our Technical support team. They use specific tools to investigate this further and provide additional steps to resolve the error.

Moreover, you can bring transactions into QBO if your bank supports certain types of file formats (QFX, QBO, CSV, and OFX). For detailed steps and guidelines, you can check out this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Once the transactions are in, we'll now need to match and categorise them to ensure they are allocated to the correct account in QBO.

I'm just around the corner to provide assistance if you have any other concerns about connecting your bank in QBO. Have a good day ahead and keep safe.
