Greetings, hello63.
When using Online Banking, the data we receive is dependent on what your bank shares with us. This includes the transaction details or descriptions. I'd recommend reaching out to your bank to include these details. Once they approve your request, we can go back to QuickBooks and update the Banking page manually. You can go to the Banking page and click the Update button.
If it still won't download the bank transactions with descriptions or details, we can import a WebConnect file as a workaround. You can download it from your bank's website. Here's an article that you can use for reference: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
You can start categorising the transactions once you've imported them successfully.
We'll be right here if you require additional assistance about it. Have a great day!
Hello, Hello63,
When importing the bank details via .csv; you do have the option of including invoice numbers and selecting the description column.
However, if the transaction is pulled from the bank through the live connection on QuickBooks, we only have access to the data in which the bank sends us, of which we provide all of it to you in the bank feed.
There are some options to include "Bank Detail" on the transaction in banking, through the use of the Cog Wheel in the top right of the banking table (The little cog wheel) - this may help.
Thanks James,
Unfortunately the bank detail option doesn't yield more info really. It's strange as my old accounting software (wave) used to pull all the details. Are you sure its my bank that's at fault?
QB pulls the top line of the transaction (usually the recipient's name), but usually there's more lines that tell you what the transaction is. So I have to go through my statements on my phone to work out what is what...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
